PT Arasains Bali Seminar: Environmental Monitoring and Allergen Control Program to Support Food Safety and Quality
Hygienic quality is very important in food industry to maintain the food safety, so the product is safe and qualified to consume by consumer. Environmental hygiene monitoring in food and beverage factory is one of the things that industry should do. In line with this goal, PT Arasains was held seminar on Thursday, 14 September 2023 at Harris Hotel & Residence, Denpasar, Bali with topic “Environmental Monitoring and Allergen Control Program to Support Food Safety and Quality”. This is the first seminar that held by PT Arasains post pandemic.
In this opportunity, PT Arasains invite Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nengah Kencana Putra, M.S which a professor of Food Technology – Faculty of Agricultural Technology, University Udayana to be one of our speakers in this seminar. There are two other speakers which are Nadira Annisa Putri – Sr. Specialist Support & Marketing from PT Arasains and Anna Lisa Gerard – Product Manager Allergen, R-Biopharm, Germany. This seminar was opened by PT Arasains country manager – Michelle Yit with her presentation about the advantages of rapid method for environmental hygiene monitoring which can increase effectivity and productivity their laboratory.
On his presentation, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nengah Kencana Putra, M.S present with topic the importance of environmental monitoring program in production line to assure the food safety. He also mentioned that around 10 – 22 billion people got diarrhea every year in Indonesia, therefore food and beverage industry should concern about their hygiene monitoring program to prevent any food safety hazard which include biology, chemical and physical hazard that can came from any parts of production. He also mentioned, if industry do the preventive action in their production line, they can do corrective action immediately.
Hygiene monitoring of environmental production should also be supported by the tools that can give accurate, reliable, and fast result thus we assure the quality of the product. This also presented by Nadira Annisa Putri in her presentation about method and tools available for hygiene monitoring in production line. One of the methods that can be use is ATP Bioluminescence method from Merck Biocontrol which is Lightning MVP ICON to detect ATP from food residue and bacterial with rapid and accurate result. Moreover, Anna Lissa also presented the potential of allergen contamination in production line that can occur from raw material container to production tools that presented on her session with topic Allergen and its solution.
There were more than 50 participants that came from various industry including government laboratory, seafood exporter, winery, brewery, drinking water and confectionary. In this seminar, we also did product demo with various product that separate into four (4) stations which are hygiene monitoring tools, rapid method microbiology analysis, allergen testing, and instrumentation. On the last session, we have door prize for participant that raise questions during the seminar and there is interactive game with all participants that related to the topic of seminar.
